When asked whether pumps had been manned, the governor said that after Hurricane Francine state reviews showed problems with pumps not being staffed and that the administration has worked to improve communication and operational checks with the city's sewage and water board.
"We're gonna try to do more in cooperation with the city, sewage and water board to try to be more proactive in ensuring that those pumps are manned, and that they're operating," the governor said, adding that the state wants better modeling and more information available to GOSEP so maintenance and contingency responses can be faster.
