The director reported that Brandon Chavis has joined the airport team as the new manager for ARW and described ongoing terminal construction at Hilton Head Island Airport, including installed windows, canopy work and an automated three-door exit lane.
"Brandon Chavis is our new manager out of ARW," the director said during the report, adding that Delta, United and American will be back in service for the tournament. The director said the terminal's high dormer windows remain to be installed and that paving of additional lanes should begin in the coming weeks. He also said concessions and additional gate areas are being readied and that staff will show a short video tour of the progress.
Why it matters: the committee noted that restored airline service and a ready terminal are expected to support tournament visitors and peak summer travel. Staff encouraged contractors and concessionaires to monitor Beaufort County's website for upcoming solicitations tied to terminal and airfield work.
