Police chief reports traffic control, special coverage for visiting dignitary and officer training updates

Police Chief Robert Hendrickson told the council that department officers provided traffic control for a Union Pacific Railroad paving project the previous weekend. Hendrickson said the department also prepared additional staff coverage as a precaution after receiving information that the President of the Marshall Islands was in Pacific for a funeral.
Hendrickson provided staffing updates: Officer O'Rourke is in phase 3 of her field training officer (FTO) program and Officer Gibson is scheduled to start the Police Academy on April 1, 2025.
