Police Chief Robert Hendrickson told the council that department officers provided traffic control for a Union Pacific Railroad paving project the previous weekend. Hendrickson said the department also prepared additional staff coverage as a precaution after receiving information that the President of the Marshall Islands was in Pacific for a funeral.
Hendrickson provided staffing updates: Officer O'Rourke is in phase 3 of her field training officer (FTO) program and Officer Gibson is scheduled to start the Police Academy on April 1, 2025. The workshop minutes do not record any incidents related to these events; these were operational updates to the council.
