Mayor says Pacific will see 20% parks levy boost; city also received $6,000 county grant

Mayor Kave reported that at the SCA Networking Dinner on March 5, King County Executive Dow Constantine discussed a Parks Levy expected on the August 2025 ballot and that the city of Pacific is receiving a 20% increase in its allocation. Mayor Kave also reported the city received a $6,000 grant from King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer to promote physical fitness activities in the community.
Council Member Helms raised a question about when the proposed parking lot tax will be brought forward to council and noted a discrepancy on the Parks Department report about the Easter Egg Hunt date (the report lists April 26; Helms stated the event is April 19). Council Member Petersen requested that a letter from the City of Sumner about Metro Animal Services be discussed at the Committee of the Whole on March 24.
