Council authorizes FERC non-capacity amendment application to advance fuse-plug project

County engineer Rhett Templeton described the need to file a non-capacity amendment with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as part of permitting for the fuse-plug project. The amendment would document planned changes and trigger interagency review, including US Fish and Wildlife and state Department of Natural Resources involvement, before construction.
Templeton said some reviews have been completed and that formal amendment application would allow the county to move toward construction when agency reviews are finished. Council moved and seconded to authorize staff to submit the FERC non-capacity amendment and voted in favor.
