Commission signals limits on long remediation extension; asks applicant for plan and quotes

Andrew Brotman read the request and said he had asked the applicant to respond to staff questions and provide a contractor quote. Commissioners responded that optimal planting windows are fall and spring; one commissioner proposed a shorter deadline rather than a full summer extension and recommended the applicant return with a plan and quote. "If he doesn't have a plan or a quote, then he's not taking any action," one commissioner said during discussion.
The commission agreed it could grant a short-term extension or require the applicant to appear at the next meeting with documentation of a contractor and a schedule. Staff will follow up by email to request the required documentation and report back to the commission; the request was not granted unconditionally at the meeting.
Next steps: staff will seek a written contractor quote or plan and, if progress is documented, return with a formal short-term extension or administrative approval with conditions.
