Dennis, speaking for city officers, told the council about upcoming community events and public-safety outreach: a police fundraiser at Culver's (next Tuesday), and National Night Out on August 4 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Fireman's Park, which will include a petting zoo, a real-live safety burn demonstration, a taser demonstration (in the pavilion lower level) and participation from police, fire, EMS, state patrol, sheriff's office and DNR.
Following the officer's report the council voted to convene in closed session under Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate or negotiate the purchase of public properties and to discuss investment of public funds related to property along the Park Avenue corridor for a public safety building project and property for a future water plant. The motion carried and council entered closed session.
