Bloomington sets trick-or-treat hours; community groups plan 'Spooky Halloween Night' and Trick or Trot 5K

Clerk Shawna Atterbury reported receipt of an email from Ellena Gage seeking approval for the Trick or Trot 5K fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. Atterbury said the event will start at BoxLogix at 9:00 a.m. and follow the same course used in prior years; last year the event raised over $1,000. She also reported a new "Spooky Halloween Night" organized by Katie Webb and Jeannie Hamilton, planned to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 with a costume contest, trick-or-treating at local shops, a scavenger hunt, and pumpkin carving.
After discussing overlap with a Legion hall party, the board set village trick-or-treating hours on Oct. 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.; the motion was made by Trustee Dawn Drew and seconded by Trustee Chasity Allen and passed unanimously.
