Leitzinger delivered the maintenance report Jan. 5, saying village staff spent extra time shoveling at Union Street Apartments after residents expected the village to clear around parked cars. He said this work exceeded normal duties and that he and Dennis Moris spent about half an hour doing the task.
Leitzinger also reported that the white village truck struck a garbage container left in the road, causing mirror and fender damage estimated at about $1,200; the board approved repairs by Sire T Auto Body. He reported finding lead service lines on Canal Street and a curb stop buried under concrete at Tranny's Plus and said the village would await EPA guidance before deciding whether immediate action is required. He noted the aeration tank was restored to operation after a plugged pipe was cleared and that the generator was tripping breakers; an electrician has been contacted.
