Board agrees to remove village tree on Third Street and split cost with homeowner

Keith Leitzinger reported crews trimmed and removed trees causing driving obstructions and said the lightning-struck tree in the square park will be monitored rather than removed at this time. Leitzinger identified a village-owned tree on Third Street whose branches overhang a residence at 730 3rd Street; the homeowner offered to either pay the full trimming cost or split the cost with the village.
Village President Robert McLimans moved and Chasity Allen seconded a motion to remove the tree and share the cost with the homeowner; the motion passed unanimously among members present.
