Board authorizes purchase of new John Deere Z920M zero-turn mower using equipment fund

Municipal Operations Director Jesse Rankin presented quotes from Riesterer and Schnell and Fox Valley Trucks and recommended purchasing a new John Deere Z920M with trade-in, costing $10,856.23.
Trustee Kay Zuleger moved and Trustee Andrew Court seconded a motion to approve purchase of the John Deere Z920M from Riesterer and Schnell in 2026 using cash on hand from the equipment fund; the board approved the motion unanimously. Rankin said using cash on hand would have no effect on the 2026 budget.
The board did not direct staff to pursue alternate financing or delay replacement; the action was approval to purchase with existing equipment-fund cash on hand.
