County to give $5,000 each from opioid settlement funds to four police departments for National Night Out

The Carbon County Board of Commissioners approved use of Opioid Settlement Fund dollars to support local National Night Out events. The board authorized payments of $5,000 each to the Lehighton Borough Police Department, Nesquehoning Police Department, Palmerton Police Department and Weatherly Police Department to fund outreach and recovery support materials, per agenda item #26-483.
Commissioner Rocky C. Ahner moved to authorize the payments; Vice-Chairman Wayne E. Nothstein seconded and the motions carried by unanimous poll. The agenda lists the four named departments and identical $5,000 amounts for each.
