Children's-area redesign trimmed to about $440,000 after revised vendor quote and a large donated shelving offer

Separately, the group learned Beloit Public Library offered to donate approximately 240 shelving units (36 inches high) that "match" existing finishes; Foundation members said Beloit would hold and store the shelving until Franklin is ready to transport it. Participants agreed donated shelving could reduce the project total substantially and discussed phasing purchases so higher-cost elements could be deferred.
Board members asked vendors whether orders and deliveries could be phased; the Chair confirmed Demco is willing to phase the proposal and reissue adjusted pricing. No construction contract was approved at the meeting; board members said they would remove shelving from the current Demco budget and recalculate totals to determine final scope.
