Vice Mayor Kussler told the board that staff should work with the Clay County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Transportation to address a recurring failure-to-yield problem at crosswalks on Lawrence Boulevard (Hwy 21) in the downtown core. The request was entered on the CRP full project list as a public-safety and traffic priority.
Council members placed the enforcement and engineering effort within the broader streetscape and parking priority for the 2025 CRP, asking staff to coordinate with county and state partners about enforcement, signage, and possible engineering changes.
