CRA board narrows 2025 Community Redevelopment Plan to five priority areas
Summary
The Community Redevelopment Agency directed staff to reorganize the 2025 CRP around five priority areas (Lake projects; Traffic/Streetscape/Signs/Parking; Parks and Events; Economic Development; Infrastructure), drop a standalone Operations and Maintenance area, and include timelines, rough costs and funding sources in the second draft.
The Community Redevelopment Agency board directed city staff to rework the draft 2025 Community Redevelopment Plan into five broad priority areas and to use subordinate project descriptions rather than detailed standalone operations language. The five priority areas are: lake-related projects; traffic, streetscape, signs, and parking; parks and events; economic development; and infrastructure (including septic-to-sewer projects, City Hall/Museum, and property acquisition).
The board asked that the second draft include rough timelines, cost estimates, and potential funding sources (including grant opportunities). Members noted that CRA funding is scheduled to cease in 2034/35 and recommended prioritization occur through the city’s budgeting process, with each board member serving as a project champion.
