The city's utility department reported a range of operational items at the Dec. 11 meeting, including setting two electric poles and wiring for a new residence at 200 E. 7th, installing an electric stack, and receiving transformers and other equipment for a year-one electric upgrade. Staff also set up accounts and subsurface maps for field-service work, worked on transferring gas operator qualifications for Joe Nativi via energyworld.net, and took quarterly sewer samples.
Utility staff reported they have received transformers and other equipment for the planned electric upgrade and that Tyson from KMEA ordered electric poles for the project’s first-year work. The minutes also note routine maintenance actions: brush pickup, tree trimming and removal, meter reads using new palm pilot devices, and repairs to a skid-steer hydraulic cylinder. Brightspeed pole-attachment permit applications were under review; the minutes do not record permit approvals or the terms of any agreements.
