The Planning and Zoning Commission discussed 78 Granite Drive (application Z‑26‑54) as new business on July 23 but the applicant was not present. Members reported past complaints about clearing and fill at the steep lot and noted differences between original subdivision topography and existing conditions. One staff member said a prior excavation/fill permit on the parcel listed more than 5,000 cubic yards; commissioners requested the original subdivision plan, proposed grading, erosion-control documentation and sale date to clarify whether unpermitted fill was placed.
Commissioners debated whether to seek a notice of violation or a cease‑and‑desist order. The consensus was to task staff and the Zoning Enforcement Officer (ZEO) to investigate and report back; the commission moved and voted unanimously to table the application until Aug. 27 to give staff time to gather GIS contours, topo maps and permit history. Members noted that if evidence shows unauthorized fill or clearing, escalation through the ZEO is available.
