CDA defers StoneHorse Green AV upgrade pending IT and funding review

Jolene explained the StoneHorse Green AV system is currently installed using a Crestron control system that staff finds overly complex for typical users. She presented two vendor approaches: have the original installer (Fierings) repair and streamline the current Crestron setup, or replace Crestron controls with a simpler mixer-based configuration that would be more interoperable with typical audio contractors.
"The basic situation is that the way that the AV system was set up is not really how anybody uses it," Jolene said, describing difficulties with monitor mixes and input routing. Members raised concerns about vendor availability to service Crestron, potential secondary-market value of existing equipment, and whether funds exist this year or should be included in the capital budget. Several members recommended talking with IT and facility staff to clarify support and transfer policies before changing systems.
Because competing information about funding and vendor support remained unresolved, the CDA voted to defer the AV upgrade request and asked staff to return with options and funding sources after consultation with IT and finance.
