On shade structures, Jolene described that earlier budgeting had set aside $10,000 and that Visit Middleton had contributed $5,000 toward a larger structure; she advised that a full-build would require much larger capital and that a formal shade study from the original green designers (Psyche Design) would better define options, costs and fundraising needs. Jen Cole moved to commission the shade study; the motion passed.
Procurement and the study give the CDA a short-term seating and sun-protection plan while a longer capital campaign or fundraising approach is scoped.
