Council suspends readings, approves stormwater easements and $138,000 sewer monitoring transfer in unanimous votes

On July 20 the Tiffin City Council voted unanimously to suspend its three-reading rule and immediately adopt ordinance 26-49, authorizing the mayor to negotiate and accept permanent stormwater easements related to local projects. Council member Reisner moved for immediate passage; the suspension and passage carried on 6-0 votes after brief discussion about post-construction maintenance shifting to property owners.
The council also moved to suspend readings and immediately pass ordinance 26-50 (F26-16), a budget amendment to appropriate $138,000 into the combined sewer separation fund for additional flow monitoring and data analysis in the Schonhardt and Main Street areas. The suspension, emergency designation and passage each passed 6-0. Council recorded roll-call affirmations for each vote; no dissenting votes were recorded.
