Paroles granted with GPS, PREP and DRC conditions; many denials carry multi-year reset dates
Summary
The board approved paroles with conditions—such as GPS ankle monitors, PREP or day-reporting center participation, mental-health follow-up, and drug assessments—and denied others with reset dates ranging from 2027 to 2031. Several grants specified program placements (Perry County PREP, Baldwin County DRC, Birmingham DRC or halfway houses).
Board decisions on July 16 included numerous parole grants conditioned on program completion and supervision tools. Examples: Ralph A. Beavers (AIS# 250492) was granted parole with a special condition to complete the Birmingham Day Reporting Center, wear a GPS ankle monitor, and complete a drug assessment upon release. Jaxon P. Morgan (AIS# 311090) was granted parole with GPS monitoring, mental-health follow-up and a drug assessment. Mykel S. Milan (AIS# 261792) was granted parole conditioned on completing the Perry County PREP program plus GPS and assessments.
Denials also were common: Gregory Lee (AIS# 184070) was denied parole with a reset date of July 2030; Eric D. Fugate (AIS# 277738) was denied parole with a reset of July 2027. The docket lists reset dates for many denials and records the board's unanimous or split vote results for each case.
