Great Northern Salmon says contractor dispute delayed land‑based farm but plans to fold remaining remediation into construction

Nestle said the company plans to incorporate the final six weeks of remediation work into the early construction phase if it can secure financing, and that the company is working with two banks and pursuing investor outreach. Local team members and the redevelopment group said they remain committed to the project and that the town has been supportive. Presenters noted broader industry challenges—imports currently supply most Atlantic salmon consumed in the U.S.—but said a domestic, land‑based operation can be competitive for perishable supply chains.
