Hagerman representatives showed a drone video and schedule update for three playground projects at district elementary schools, saying earthwork, underdrain installation and concrete sidewalk pours are underway. "You can see the underdrains here have been installed and the site is being prepared for the installation of ultimately of the turf," Ed Messer said, summarizing the Haverhill work.
Kyle of the Hagerman team provided a near-term work plan: finishing sidewalk pours and grading behind Haverhill’s playground; preparing sidewalk forms at Aboyt; and continuing demolition and mulch removal at Covington so crews can bring sites to subgrade and install underdrains before equipment and turf arrive. Messer gave contract turnover milestones: Haverhill Sept. 2; Aboyt Sept. 18; Covington Oct. 2.
Board members pressed staff for clearer family- and staff-facing communications after reports that equipment deliveries were delayed because of excessive mulch. The chair suggested the district publish expected completion dates; staff said the director of maintenance has been updating building leaders and that a systemwide email or dashboard could be provided. The presentation closed with Hagerman reaffirming the project’s critical-path sequencing: concrete and foundations first, then equipment installation, then turf.
