Residents complain to aldermen about unregistered vehicles and property conditions

At the July 21 meeting, resident John Welch told the Lowry City Board of Aldermen he counted more than 120 unregistered vehicles "stashed" within the city limits and raised concerns about unmaintained properties and trash cans left out all week. Welch said these conditions are affecting neighborhoods.
Mayor Greg BeVelle responded that there are limits on what the city can do under existing resources. Alderman Sean Langston said the city would need more police to fully enforce those types of code concerns. Resident Jackie Cutller also described vehicles extending onto city property in areas that need mowing and suggested the mayor ask those property owners to move vehicles.
The board did not take formal enforcement action at the meeting but noted the enforcement capability is constrained by staffing and resources.
