The Lowry City Board of Aldermen voted July 21 to direct the city clerk to run a two-week advertisement in newspapers in Clinton and Nevada soliciting bids for an independent audit of the city's financial records. Clerk John Farrell told the board the last audit on file covered fiscal year 2020–2021 and was completed July 30, 2024 by DSWA.
Alderman Sean Langston moved to place the advertisement and Alderman Cecil Shehorn seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The clerk will publish the notice and collect bids for the board to consider.
The action is a procedural step to re-engage outside audit services; the board did not select an auditor at the meeting.
