Joe Blanger, speaking online, said the district wrapped up most summer hiring but still had roughly 20 open positions as the new school year approaches. He said the open positions include eight power (key) positions, four long-term substitute assignments and certain nurse and teacher roles where offers were expected after reference checks.
"We probably hired a few more people this year than we did last summer... we have about 20 open positions that we're working on right now," Joe said, adding that application volumes appear higher than last year and the district expected the number of openings to decline in the coming days as interviews and offers continue.
Committee members thanked HR and Christine; Joe said custodial and lunch-monitor roles were also part of ongoing recruitment but that progress was steady and moving toward the fall staffing baseline.
