Tim said the new building is roughly 262,000 square feet compared with 252,000 square feet for the building being cleared for move-out, and crews are managing site details such as paver installation and drainage work tied to a road realignment. He described the move timeline for FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment), saying he expects to begin moving equipment into the new building in late October to early November to accept deliveries and commission systems before occupancy.
Committee members asked about parking-lot work connected to Hemlock Road realignment and a roundabout on Nahant Street; Tim said contractors were about 50% finished and had encountered a buried concrete and brick foundation that required review but did not halt progress. Tim emphasized coordination with the owner’s project manager and contractors to ensure HVAC commissioning and classroom-level controls function properly prior to moving in.
