Commissioners approve $58,850 contract to repair Fairgrounds commercial building floor

Tamra Martin, Recreation Director, presented a proposed contract with Table Rock Custom Masonry to grind and seal existing concrete floors in the historic Fairgrounds commercial building used by vendors and the winter Growers Market. Martin said the floors had deteriorated due to moisture and long-term wear and that the work was intended to improve safety, appearance, and maintenance conditions prior to longer-term facility planning.
Commissioners discussed preservation of the historic structure, slip-resistance concerns with floor sealants, the project timeline and maintenance implications. Martin stated the contractor was ready to begin work promptly to complete the project before the County Fair. The board approved the contract on a motion by Commissioner Colene Martin, seconded by Commissioner Gary Richardson; roll-call votes recorded were yes by the three commissioners and the motion carried 3-0.
