The council approved the transfer of a package off‑sale liquor license from Dan Bruner (Timmons Market) to Dakota Mart Inc., which will operate as Linz Dakota Mart in Box Elder. Mark O'Loughlin, business license and development specialist, summarized the application and introduced Rodney Mesmer and company representatives, who described company operations and training protocols for alcohol sales.
"We take the sale of liquor very seriously," said Rodney Mesmer, noting Lynn's Dakota Mart has been operating since 1968 and that the company trains managers and cashiers to scan driver's licenses and uphold the law. Staff recommended approval and the council voted unanimously to transfer the license.
Councilmember Davis moved to approve the transfer; the motion was seconded and passed by roll call. There were no public objections at the hearing.
