Board to consider ad hoc committee to review school budget vote process after polling issues

Member Wolfgang proposed creating an ad hoc committee to examine the district's annual school budget vote process after a May resolution temporarily permitted voters to cast ballots at any district polling location for the 2026 vote. He said the committee will review polling locations, how the district implements redistricting, and any relevant state election-law changes to ensure maximum enfranchisement.
"This ad hoc committee is going to kinda take a wholesale look at our annual school budget vote process, and see how we can, improve that and ensure that no 1 is being disenfranchised," Wolfgang said. Trustees supported discussing the item tonight and agreed to return in two weeks with a committee charge and a potential vote to establish the committee.
Several trustees noted the item is discussion-only this evening; Member Savage said the topic will also be taken up at the government-relations committee to explore ways to make voting easier.
