Box Elder approves up to $8,000 sponsorship for Ellsworth AFB base picnic and fireworks

Mark O’Loughlin, business license and development specialist, presented a commercial sponsorship agreement between the city and the 28th Force Support Squadron to sponsor food and staff support for the 2025 base picnic and fireworks event. O’Loughlin said the amount is not to exceed $8,000 and staff expect the actual cost to be below that figure; final head count and cost will be communicated closer to the event.
A council member moved to approve the sponsorship agreement, the motion was seconded, and the council approved the agreement by roll-call vote and authorized the mayor to sign the associated documentation. City staff will coordinate event staffing and confirm final costs before expenditures approach the authorized cap.
