Commission recommends temporary fireworks license for Main Street Fireworks at Flying J

Planner Michelle Clavadocher presented an application for a temporary fireworks-sales license for Main Street Fireworks to operate at the Flying J truck stop. "It's basically good June 27 through July 5," she said, and noted a 15-day storage period before and after the sales period (June 14 through July 20). Clavadocher reminded the commission that state law sets the retail sales window and the city limits temporary-class licenses to no more than six per year and restricts multiple licenses per owner.
The planner said the applicant had operated at that location for the last five years and staff recommended approval. A motion to recommend City Council approve the temporary license was moved and seconded; roll call recorded unanimous support and the motion passed.
