Black Hills Children’s Museum outlines plan for donated 5-acre site in Box Elder

Bixell outlined governance and fundraising steps: the museum contracted with Innovative Nonprofit (INP) this year, is strengthening bylaws and policies, has hired a fundraising/administrative coordinator, is expanding its board with a target of up to 15 members, and expects to launch a capital campaign and pursue grant opportunities in October–December. The presenters asked the council to consider partnerships rather than leaving the effort solely to the nonprofit.
A board-member question at the meeting confirmed the group meets monthly and expects to recruit volunteers and board candidates; the presenters offered to return to council later this summer with further updates.
