County says it's preparing to expand children's services under BH Connect and BHSA

County children's services staff provided a status update on the work required under BH Connect and BHSA. A staff member (speaker 12) said Humboldt is working to certify short-term residential and wraparound providers and to finalize MOUs with probation to ensure prerelease and assessment tools are in place for youth returning from facilities.
The presenter said the county already has two certified high-fidelity wraparound providers and is identifying staff for training in evidence-based practices such as Functional Family Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. For services requiring greater capacity, the county plans to issue requests for proposals to find certified providers. Staff cautioned that some state guidance is still pending and that rollout depends on final state rules.
