Planning Director Laura Patton presented three fireworks license items and said applications met local ordinance deadlines and zoning requirements.
Patton explained that temporary fireworks sales license holders may sell fireworks to individuals at retail within the city's jurisdiction from June 27 through July 5 and have a storage period 15 days prior and 15 days following those valid sales; the council approved Main Street Fireworks (temporary at the Flying J truck stop) and Patriot Fireworks (temporary at 520 North Ellsworth Road) and approved an annual fireworks sales license for Big Fireworks at 4501 South I‑90 Service Road.
Each application had been recommended for approval by the planning commission; council approved the licenses by roll call with no recorded opposition.
