The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners opened bids for Project WDash92602, the Capitol Avenue corridor utility expansion procurement package number 1, and heard that DLZ had received a single bid from Ferguson Waterworks for $865,507.39. Jamie Pochecky of DLZ told the board, "Received 1 bid. This 1 is from Ferguson Waterworks. The total amount of bid is $865,507.39."
Bill Shaleo of the county's Department of Infrastructure Planning and Growth said the procurement package is an early package for pipes, valves and hydrants tied to the Microsoft memorandum of understanding and asked the board to accept the bid for staff review and potential award. Commissioners voted to accept the bid and allow staff to return with a recommendation later in the meeting; the motion carried on a recorded vote.
