The Gregory City Council on July 20 approved a plan to rebuild and gravel the south crossover between Rice and Logan in the Pleasant View Addition but declined to pave the segment. The motion, made by Stacey Boes and seconded by Jessica Grage-Schmidt, carried with all ayes.
During public comment, resident Jason Birkeland warned that leaving the route unpaved could depress property values in Pleasant View and asked whether property taxes would be reduced if paving were deferred; the council responded that chip sealing would not occur until at least next year and that tax adjustments were not promised. The council recorded that chip sealing will be scheduled at a future date and left procurement and timing for follow-up review.
