Village says it waters new cemetery plots but not the old section; gopher activity monitored
Summary
Public Works Director Martinson told trustees the village waters only the newer cemetery section while the older part is not irrigated; residents are provided buckets to water flowers and staff will monitor gopher activity but will not deploy gopher traps on site.

Martinson updated the board on cemetery care during dry weather, saying the village waters the new cemetery section installed during the expansion but does not irrigate the older plots. "We do water the new part, to make sure that that grass keeps growing since we put a lot of money into expansion," he said, and noted staff provide water for visitors to hand-water flowers.
On pest control, Martinson said the village is aware of gopher activity but will not place gopher traps at the cemetery; staff will continue to monitor conditions and respond as they can without trapping on site.
