Union City council approves ordinance amendments, housing-plan resolution and stormwater grant application

At its Sept. 16 meeting the Union City Borough Council unanimously approved amendments to parking and zoning ordinances, authorized an application for up to $100,000 in CDBG funds for stormwater repairs at Municipal Lot #1, and approved a countywide housing-plan resolution and a $5,563.49 tax exoneration for 121 East High.
The Union City Borough Council met Sept. 16 and approved a slate of routine measures, including amendments to Parking Ordinance 1137 and Zoning Ordinance 1118, a resolution supporting Erie County’s new comprehensive housing plan, and an application for up to $100,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for stormwater repairs at Municipal Lot #1.
Councilors voted unanimously on each item. The meeting record shows a tax exoneration resolution in the amount of $5,563.49 for 121 East High (the property was purchased by the Land Bank). The council also moved to advertise a proposed change to the tenant-registration ordinance allowing charging violators more than once per year when they fail to provide required information, and set Halloween trick-or-treat hours for Oct. 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
