County details EOC facilities: bunk rooms, meals and a building built to high wind standards

In a full EOC activation, St. Johns County provides on-site continuity support for partner staff, Kelly Wilson said. "The EOC as it stands up, it will become a 24 hour operation which means we have to feed and house people," she said, describing three meals a day plus food for midnight shifts and bunk rooms where staff can rest between shifts.
Wilson added that the facility includes showers and that the building "was built to withstand a 200 mile an hour wind load," a design feature aimed at ensuring the county can continue response and recovery operations through severe weather. She said there are about 40 bunks in the men's and women's bunk areas to support off-shift personnel.
