Motion to pay the full final pay request with no liquidated damages was made by Mayor Laura Petersen and seconded by Ashley Spinsby; the motion carried unanimously.
Bryan Vanderpol told the council that "the funding was excessively delayed by the federal government, and upon the notification of the funding award, the building then had a 14-week production time," which left little room for setbacks. Councilmember Alex Hamilton noted Vanderpol Dragline's prior work for the city and encouraged the company to bid on future projects. The payment completes the contractor's final invoice and allows the airport project to move into routine operations.
