The Dayton School District No. 8 board was told April 14 that classified bargaining with the Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA) has formally begun. Superintendent Amy Fast said the district is seeking one board member to participate in classified bargaining; Director Terri Paysinger volunteered to serve on the April 30 classified negotiations committee.
Fast also said that bargaining with the licensed association (licensed staff) will begin soon and that Board Chair Larry Ringnalda will serve as the board representative for that process. No bargaining proposals, contract terms, or vote outcomes were discussed at the April 14 meeting; those items will be developed during negotiations and returned to the board as appropriate.
