The Neosho City Council authorized staff to purchase 35 new golf carts from Clear Creek to replenish and expand the municipal golf fleet. Staff told council the city has about $90,000 in a dedicated cart replacement fund and roughly $330,000 in the golf course operating account to cover remaining costs; staff said the total cost with trade‑ins would be approximately $196,700.
Council member 13 urged buying new carts that match the recently received units, noting the five‑year warranty on new lithium battery models. "We have over $90,000 in that account, and the golf course account currently has $330,000," council member 13 said, supporting the purchase. After discussion about trade‑in counts and warranty years, council voted and the motion passed 6 to 0.
Staff said the purchase will bring the fleet to 45 carts (45 new with eight gas carts retained) and that additional purchases will follow when the new cart barn is finished so the fleet can reach a 60‑cart goal. Orders will be placed from the cart fund and the golf operating account.
