Superintendent: seismic assessment work underway; state funding could support gym rehabilitation

Superintendent (S2) updated the board on a seismic rehabilitation grant the district applied for last year through the Oregon Department of Education. She said the state has completed assessments and the district is preparing plans and drawings to submit for approval. "Once that's done, we're up to a certain amount, I think, up to, like, 2,000,000, somewhere in there," S2 said, describing the potential funding envelope for eligible work under the seismic program.
S2 also noted a related state program through PACE to inspect wood trusses older than 50 years; the district has buildings with older wood trusses and the program will fund tests and analysis to determine whether reinforcement or replacement is needed. The superintendent said these assessments will inform the scope and timing of any rehabilitation work and expected grant-funded projects.
