Superintendent (S2) summarized conclusions from the traffic committee: the group identified locations for school-zone flashing lights, proposed new crosswalks on Bridge Street and the west-east sidewalk connection, and recommended a no-parking zone from the football field entrance to the crosswalk to improve sight lines during events. "So what we agreed upon is that we're gonna block off from basically the entrance to the football field to where the current crosswalk is and make that no parking anytime," S2 said, noting the district expects to lose about seven or eight event parking spaces to improve safety.
S2 also said the city will explore adding bollards around a problematic fire hydrant and that some flashing signs will operate only during school hours or event times on timers. The plan includes targeted lighting and better pedestrian connections for students arriving from the west side of town.
