Community Development Board seeks artist to design Lyons entry signs

Darin Clark presented on behalf of the Community Development Board and said the board liked several candidate entry-sign designs but did not have a single complete design. "The Board would like to reach out to an artist and get a unique design for the City of Lyons using the preferred pictures as a reference," Clark said.
The board's recommendation is to retain an artist to produce a finalized sign that reflects the city’s preferences. Council did not vote on funding or select a vendor at the Oct. 5 meeting; the presentation was informational and intended to prompt follow-up about design options and procurement steps.
If the council pursues the recommendation, staff will need to return with cost estimates and a procurement or contracting plan for approval.
