County staff introduced a proposed local law to modernize Livingston County's ethics and disclosure rules, saying the draft updates the 2018 law to align with the general municipal law and the model ethics and disclosure law. "We are introducing today a local law to amend and restate the Livingston County ethics and disclosure law," the county staff member said, and described a new full-time compliance officer position to administer the law, oversee compliance, and provide training.
The Board moved to provide for a public hearing on the proposed local law and recorded the roll-call vote; the clerk announced the result as recorded in the transcript and declared the item adopted for the purpose of scheduling the hearing. The staff presentation stated that, if the compliance officer is unavailable, the board may temporarily appoint the county administrator, clerk of the board, or county attorney to assume duties.
