City updates SPARKS funding timeline, water-service installs and wastewater operator resignation

City Administrator Chad Buckley told the Lyons City Council on Oct. 5 that SPARKS funds require timely procurement: "items that needed to be ordered for the SPARKS money to be spent within the allotted time," he said, and staff is tracking required purchases and deadlines.
Buckley also reported infrastructure work: eight new water services have been installed in the city. During the same update he informed the council of the resignation of Aaron Hrabik, the Waste Water Plant Operator; the council did not take further action on the personnel matter at the meeting.
Staff will follow procurement rules tied to the SPARKS allocation and proceed with required purchases; human-resources steps related to the wastewater operator vacancy will follow normal procedures.
