Robert Sparks, a longtime Livingston County EMS paramedic, received the Board of Supervisors’ Distinguished Service Award at the meeting. Chairman said, "It's my distinct honor to present this month's distinguished service award to Robert Sparks," noting Sparks' progression from EMT to paramedic and his ongoing pursuit of specialty care transport paramedic certification.
The chairman highlighted Sparks' supervisory role since 2017 — overseeing staffing, managing the controlled substance program and providing supervisory EMS response — and cited awards received in 2021 including the Monroe-Livingston EMS region advanced life support provider of the year and the New York State advanced life support provider of the year. The Board closed the presentation by thanking Sparks for his service to county residents.
