Robinson PD officers awarded commendations for June flood rescues

Lieutenant Vince Otting of the Robinson Police Department presented commendation medals to three officers for their actions during the June 14 flooding that produced rapidly rising water, road closures and life‑threatening conditions. "These guys were in water past their waist, at times up to their chest," Otting said, and he described their efforts to rescue stranded residents and coordinate resources under hazardous conditions.
Otting also credited dispatcher Jared Yvonne for coordinating multiple agencies and communications from behind the scenes, saying without that coordination field efforts would have been hampered. The council recognized the officers and thanked the department; the presentation was followed by a photo opportunity and brief remarks from the mayor.
